Apple bluetooth headset static

I have been using the Apple Bluetooth headset for a few months with no problem. I am around all types of electronic equipment including wireless networks and phones in both home and office. All of the sudden I have an enormous amount of static on my headset. I hear it and people on the other end of conversations can hear it. My iPhone works great with the wired headset, on speaker and as a handset. I have shutdown and restarted the phone and headset, recharged them both and deleted the bluetooth pairings on the phone and "re-paired" them. The static remains.

Does anyone have any helpful thoughts?

I've had a few Bluetooth headsets with different phones and none of them are very great. If you want a totally clear connection with no static, use the corded headset that comes with the iPhone. Just stick the microphone side in your ear.

That said, I like my Apple Bluetooth Headset because it is very thin and lightweight, very unobtrusive, and it ties in nicely with the iPhone (battery level displays on the iPhone screen, and volume is adjusted using the iPhone.) Like all of them, you get some static if you block the signal with your body. But the Apple is very comfortable and isn't a big geeky thing hanging out of your ear. Very light.

My story is very strange. I had two Apple Bluetooth Headsets (one 6 months older) and both worked great with my Blackberry. Then I finally got an iPhone 3G. They worked great with both for two weeks. Then, one after the other, started statics with the BB. I was very disappointed, but at least they worked well with the iPhone. One week after the old headset stopped working with both...statics. I then, after three weeks from purchasing, decided to sell iPhone because I was unsatisfied and I sold with it the working headset. The same day the oldest headset that I retained restarted working well with BB. One day after the purchaser of iPhone returned his headset because of statics!! After three weeks it still doesn't work with BB...
I live in Italy and since I bought it in Apple Store in US I can't return it for exchange or repair...
At least one works again...
