Apple @ NAMM

I heard they just had a tiny closed booth somewhere in the show, not a big open booth, which is surprising to me given they just released Logic 8.

Maybe they thought the trade-show nature of NAMM mad it not worth doing, or something, and perhaps they'll have a proper presence at Frankfurt, which is much more user-focused...

They were on the second floor, their booth was by appointment only.

Depsite them only having a closed booth upstairs, their presence was cleary felt. Every plugin manufacturer (with the the exception of those who make their own DAW) was using Logic 8 to demo their products. There were Macbook Pros absolutely everywhere, and Euphonix and Apogee were both giving Logic demos in addition to their own stuff.

apple had the same thing going down this year at AES also. . . a closed room appointment only underneath the trade show floor. They were having Logic 8 demoed at the Apogee booth. Kind of disappointing.
