ftp read/write permissions

just set-up an ftp server in our office for our remote employees. use fetch to get and put, works great. can also use the go menu and conect to server and the ip address appears in the finder window as a drive, great. from within an application i can open a file by navigating to the ftp server in the open dialog. the issue: is there a way to save a file from within an application to the ftp server????

I set this up for our remote employees only, all mac users, all OS X. set port forwarding on roputer for ftp traffic and fmpro traffic. everything works as it should, however the only way to "put" files into the server is by using an ftp client. it seems logical to me that, if i can open files from within applications, even attaching files from the ftp server to an email message on my remote computer, i should be able to save files to the ftp server????

Could someone get specific on why the finder won't allow posts to ftp sites? While we're at it how about why apple doesn't provide easily findable info on terminal commands for ftp?
I don't understand why apple has not incorporated full ftp capability into the finder as it is fully supported in BSD?
I remember when macs used to be about the user and what they wanted to do with their computers, not what apple wanted to allow them to do.

Still no answer as to why the finder isn't capable of uploads when I know the subsystem is??
Are there no apple techs watching these boards?
Or, is it such a corporate secret that no one will comment?

Just wondering because I want my mac to be mine and capable of doing all that the OS and all it's built is capable of.
