I have the Parrot CK3100, which worked perfectly with the iPhone before 1.1.3. Now when it starts the phonebook sync, it eventually locks the iPhone. When I say lock, I mean iPhone is unusable (screen is off or frozen) and can't receive calls until I hold the home button and power button until it restarts. I've called Apple support, tried restoring the phone in iTunes, unpaired the devices, reset the network settings, re-paired the Parrot, and no luck. It occasionally just doesn't connect to the Parrot, but usually just locks up the iPhone. FYI, I have tried using a friend's Nokia (with Bluetooth 2.0), and the Parrot (with phonebook sync) worked perfectly. So the Parrot isn't having any issues. I've had these iPhone and Parrot working for about 6 months without a single issue. I'd love to go back to 1.1.2, the car kit does a lot more for me than locate me or changing the home screen icons. HELP APPLE, it was perfect before the update!!!!

I'm having the exact same problem with the Parrot CK3100 and iPhone with 1.1.3 update. I've also tried restoring the phone and unpairing/pairing the two devices with no luck. I hope Apple fixes this soon!!!! I also have a friend that has a GPS unit with bluetooth phone capabilities and he's having similar problems so it looks like it's not just us.
Same here with my MK6100. It connects, then drops, then connects, then drops, and so on. This did not happen until the moment I installed 1.1.3. Now my iPhone often will not wake without a hard reset. From reading your comments, it sounds like this is related to my Parrot kit.
Same problems here as well. I am really angry since using a cell phone without a Bluetooth is illegal here in Connecticut. With the Parrot CK3100 now unusuable I have to answer the phone manually. If I get ticketed, can I send it to Apple? 🙂
I have the same issue - has anyone tested to see if the Parrot Firmware update resolves the issue?
I think the issue is one of the iPhone and not the CK3100... I had for the last few months been using this successfully, albeit with a lockout now and again I could live with this, now however this latest iPhone firmware update is useless in terms of hands free usability, more over I can use my wife's Motorola Razr without one problem... having been in a hardware manufacturing back ground for the last 25 years, and seen how good this little phone can be, i find it incomprehensible that there just isn’t any kind of support for this..
Just for the record, I have also updated the Parrot to the latest firmware, unfortunately it does little to changing the iPhones inability to communicate over the Bluetooth without at some stage creating a hard lock up.
Just for the record, I have contacted a local cellphone installer who fits hands free kits like the parrot all day long, he told me that the true issue is with the iPhone and not the parrot, apparently this latest firmware release 1.1.3 seems to have addressed some issues with the bluetooth negotiation and a time out handshake, he stated that he thinks the linkup time has been increased by a few seconds to enable other devices to operate with the iPhone, now from a hardware perspective I should never ever be in a situation where I can crash the iPhones OS, and I have to agree this is a bad situation to be in, someone at Apple really needs to address this pretty quick before owners start returning hardware for a refund or a replacement.. for the record being able to use any phone in a hands free situation is paramount to its international mobility, in Europe or the UK for instance just lifting your iPhone to your ear while driving down the a street is enough to send you to jail and a fine... lets get this sorted people, for now I'm going to have to resort to using my wife’s pink Razr phone, which doesn’t match my shirt or the cars interior...but never locks up during or after a call… Come on Apple...help your trusted followers resolve this very simple time out issue.

I have the Parrot CK3200 and it works perfectly with the 1.1.3 update, it also worked fine with the 1.1.2 update, maybe a Parrot firmware update will help
I think the CK3200 uses a different bluetooth interface IC than the CK3100, but I'm not 100%..I'm going to see if I can get the analyser on the data link to the Parrot, i may just be able to see whats causing the iPhone to crash here..
If i find anything out I'll post back here...,

Same issue here with the CK3100! It's driving me nuts. When it works, its great, but it seems very buggy. It won't disconnect when the car is shut off therefore locking my iPhone. The only way out is to reset the phone. Sometimes it doesn't connect to the Parrot either. Today I actually got a couple of calls and it worked, but its very inconsistent. Thought about the firmware, but I don't have a PC so I would have to borrow one.
It was working well before the upgrade to 1.1.3 although occasionally it would beep for the voice command when I didn't push any buttons (it still does this after a new install).
WE NEED A FIX!! FAST!!!!!

Thanks for this wcrandall – I was considering the Parrot CK 3100, as I just updated to 1.1.3 I think I'll now look at the CK 3200 instead.
Much appreciated info!

I too have the CK3100 and it worked flawlessly before the update. I was scared until I read this discussion because I actually dropped my iphone the day updated. I really hope there is a fix for this soon. I assume that the locking up is also what I am seeing when my phone goes to sleep and it wont let me wake it up. I could have sworn that this happened to me other than being hooked up to my car. I haven had any sound issues other than a few people saying they could understand me- and a few people were really faint on the handset.
I too have had the lockup of the iPhone whilst trying to connect to a MK6100, again since the 1.1.3 upgrade. I came across this discussion whilst Googling for "Parrot Iphone Lock" and was glad to see that I was not the only one with the same issue.
I also came across another forum that said "Turn Off Wireless". Needless to say I have done this and have since had no issues.
I cannot see any reason why this should work, except that "Bluetooth and Wireless" use the same frequency.
I hope this works for you.

I made this discovery this morning on my drive to work - I only had the CK3100 installed last week after some reassuring myself by testing it using a friend's car. Also, the company who supplied it said that the CK3100 seemed to prefer the iPhone compared to the 3200. It seems this may no longer be the case! Reading this and other forums, the Bluetooth issue seems to be the no.1 gripe with 1.1.3 and should be priority no.1 for a fix.
I too tried the turn bluetooth off and then put the phone into airplane mode and then go back and and turn bluetooth back on. This was this morning.. and so far so good. I just hope I dont have to do this everything dang time I get into my car. I will try it again this afternoon and see if it still is working. I will post tonight. RAR- dang APPLE- oh but I stiiiilL love my iPhone.
ok, here we go, i didnt have much time today and had to carry out this work while at work, but from what i can see...it would seem that the parrot is constantly refreshing the iPhone handshake, I'm not sure which is servicing which request at the moment (iPhone or parrot) but I'm working on it, I currently have v4.16c on the parrot hands free unit, can anyone confirm or defer this version works or does not work with their particular hardware.. also I noticed on the parrot group forum they talk briefly about a v4.17 firmware, but to date i have been unable to locate this version on the parrot site... like i say as soon i can work a fix for this I'll post it on here, but for now I'm having a software friend (I'm hardware) look at the flash update to see if he can pick out the reasons why its constantly re-negotiating with the iPhone..
Also for updating the parrot dont bother buying a cable, just go buy a bluetooth USB adaptor, ($25) and set this up on your laptop, makes it easy to update the parrot, one last thing to remember is to put your parrot kit into software update mode, settings/advanced/update/enable then do the update using the parrot update software... use the .ulp file and not the .bin file..
Will post when I resolve this...

I have the 3200 and have experienced problems with locking up of the phone since the 1.1.3 update. Before the update on 1.1.2 the phone was fine.
After looking here at other posts i suggest that users downgrade to 1.1.2 if they have problems and the car kit use is essential.
I wouldn't hold your breath for an update from apple on the one, I would also advise not to waster your own time with Apple tech support, a Parrot based update is far more likely.
