Weather icon should show current weather

if they can have the Calendar icon show the current date and day, they need to have the Weather icon show the current temp and weather.

yes, i was thinking of the htc touch wm6 interface for example. you can customize their home page to show the weather.

I completely agree. The weather icon should show the current temp for your default city. I'll take it a step further...I think the clock icon should show the current time too.
