Any new information on this issue?

Anyone contact AppleCare lately and what was their response?

Not sure if you read through the thread, but this has been fixed for the vast majority of users by the keyboard firmware update referenced above.

From the specs you posted, you have the appropriate v.0.18 keyboard firmware. If you're still having trouble with dropped characters it's probably indicative of a hardware problem and not this very specific firmware-related issue.

I too have been struggling with this issue for some time. It is still not completely fixed, but I see a pattern that may explain it. With the keyboard update (applied to my macbook running 10.5.2) the issue went away entirely *IF I WASN'T USING A MOUSE*. If I DID have a mouse plugged into the USB port, the problem WAS STILL PRESENT.

So Apple, whatever you did to fix the keyboard, please add that code when input is coming from the USB subsystem as well as the trackpad.
