ipod classic coverflow and search function - missing?

I did a search for my question, but either I was not using the right keywords or no one else has had this problem but me.

I have the black ipod video, which I'm now guessing is referred to as the ipod classic. I have to confirm this with you guys because my problem is that upon downloading the iPod Classic Features Guide, it seems that the classic should have features that are not showing up on my ipod.

First off, according to my ipod/itunes, I have:
60GB iPod Classic
Software version: 1.2.3 (According to iTunes, is the most current version)
Format: Macintosh

Basically, I was playing with someone's ipod nano and saw a search function on their ipod and wondered why it wasn't available on mine. I downloaded this file and it seems that it should be a feature available to me. I've searched and followed directions but I can't seem to find it at all.

So far, the things I've noticed I don't have as options are the search function and the coverflow. Am I mistaken and my ipod really doesn't have these features or is something wrong with my ipod?

PowerPC G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Since it is a 60GB, it is not a Classic but a (5th generation) iPod w/Video which does not have Search nor Coverflow.

The Search feature (and 80GB models, improved display, etc.) was introduced in Fall '06 as the "enhanced" (or 5.5) generation iPod.

Coverflow was introduced with the Classic (6th generation) iPod. The term "Classic" is somewhat of a misnomer. That's like calling a 2008 Mustang a "Classic" because it loosely resembles a '67 Fastback.
