No connection after installing Security Update 2005-007

After installing Security Update 2005-007, I am unable to connect to the internet on my iBook (10.3.9). I installed the same update to my G5 dual and to my wife's Powerbook. Both of them are working fine.

Prior to installation, I ran Disk Utility and repaired permissions. I re-ran it after I was unable to connect. No help. After looking at the discussions, I ran Keychain First Aid. It said everything was fine, BUT the SPBBOD (the beach ball) comes on and Keychain Access freezes when I ask it to show the password for my Airport station (and any other passwords for that matter). I have also tried dumping Safari's cache folder. No help. I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

Well, I've read this thread 4 or 5 times, and tried all the fixes around, but I'm still having trouble. It seems a very particular set of circumstances creates different issues for different people; my symptoms are related, but not identical.

It started a couple of days ago, about the time the security update came out. I could not connect to the internet using my home wireless connection. I have a D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router (It's an 802.11G, but I only have a "B" card in my computer, its worked just fine until now). Here's the funny part: I can connect to wireless networks in OTHER locations, just not the one at home. I've thought that this was a problem with the wireless router itself, but its worked before, and I've changed all manner of settings with no luck. I have repaired permissions (twice), run -fsck (twice) reinstalled OSX (twice), and the problem repeats.

While at home, my laptop cannot "see" the wireless network and all attempts to connect to it (as if the SID wasnt broadcast, which it is) end in error.

I am currently attempting the keychain replacement solution.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ok, I've got it working now, though I'm not sure why/how. Downgading the firmware on my router, updating my iBook (Installing the security update in question 2005-007), and running the keychain replacement suggestion. However, this fix was not permanent and failed to work after a few minutes. There seems to be some relationship between the fix and plugging in the power adapter... hardware problem? I've reset the PMU with similarly unfruitful results.

I am having a related problem; I intend to post here and in the Airport connection dropped thread as well.

I have Panther 10.3.9 on a iMac G5. It is connected to the network via Airport through a Belkin router (connected to a cable modem) using 128-bit WEP. I have 5 users on the computer (one for each family member.) On Friday I Software Updated Security Update 2005-008. Since then, everytime anyone switches to a different user, Airport drops the connection to the router and takes the computer off the network.

I have now logged into each account, connected to the router each time and typed in the 128bit hex password saving to each person's keychain. Now, when people switch to a new user, it still drops the connection but they can point-click re-connect without having to enter the password.

Resetting the Keychain using Keychain First Aid didn't do anything for me but lose the password. I don't see why I should even consider flashing the pram. I am hoping Apple fixes their bug.

BTW - I find no "Process Manager" Application, in Utilities or elsewhere.
