Connecting to Verison Internet

and im assuming he has a wireless router?

you should be able to just jump on to the wireless but you might need to change a setting in the router. it has been so long since i helped my dad and brother set up our verizon DSL back home but i remember there was more stuff we needed to so to get the macs online (also verizon automatically cut our service because it was "very unusual" for more than 1 mac to be logging on through a house... which after politely saying basically "are you stupid" was reset and never gave an issue again).

i cannot remember off hand how to set up the PPPoE but the assist me button might be able to get you through it,

im slightly confused, you should be able to just pug in the right info in system preferences on your machine and go.

gar this is really bugging me that i cannot remember if there was anything special i had to do to my machines when we set it up back home

Is this your aunt's configuration: Phone jack>>DSL Modem>>Airport Base Station??
You're saying that your aunt's mac can surf the net? How is your aunt's mac connected to the airport, via ethernet or wireless?
If it is ethernet then maybe the wireless is password protected? Can you see your wireless icon on the menubar?
If your aunt can surf the net, and she is hooked up via ethernet cable, try connecting via ethernet cable to the Airport. If you can then reach the internet, then it might be the wireless side of the Airport that needs tweaking. You then need to access and configure the Airpot using AirPort Admin Utility.app
Otherwise, have your aunt type 192.168.1.1 on a browser to see if the Verizon DSL modem configuration page shows up, if so, and your aunt can surf the net, you can rule-out that it is a DSL Modem issue.

If your aunt can surf the net through the airport, and the airport is password protected, but entering the password doesn't get you connected, it is possible that you may not be entering the right password. How did you obtain the password? Many times you have to enter the hex pairs as the password.
