Could Not Activate Edge...

To my fellow iPhone brethren... I just got off the phone with AT&T and this has striclty to do with their servers... not an Apple issue.

Worst case scenario... the problem will be fixed by Feb. 5th but they suspect it will be handled before the days end.

Just thought I'd pass along the message because if your like me... you need your wireless data as much as your morning coffee.

I think in the UK it probably had more to do with the fact that 02 didn't have an existing EDGE infrastructure before the introduction of the iPhone, whereas in the US, AT&T had EDGE before 3G. It is amazing though that the drop in EDGE should affect such a large area of the US. You wouldn't think that the system would be able to be affected so disastrously.
