MacBook Pro Anodized Aluminum?

to me those results (which i had happen on my powerbook, specifically the chipping ) is more of an improper process weather it be the material used or that it was not cleaned or what not.

personally from my experience i think that the material just has a flaw in it is what leads to the issues

A lot of the powder coating had rubbed off the palmrest areas and the strip along the bottom of the keyboard, presumably just due to contact/sweat. Some of my frequently-used keys were looking a bit shabby too.

It didn't look pretty, but it didn't stop me buying another one because I'm more interested in what my Mac can do that what it looks like. This time, however, I have applied a clear "Wristguardz" protector from http://applepeelz.com, and so far it's working great. (It's also quite possible that Apple have improved their processes since then, to prevent it happening in the first place.)

Steve Jobs himself has stated that MacBook Pros are made of "aircraft grade, hard-anodized aluminum".

Apple has truly found the ultimate notebook casing material, and I love it!

My memory might be faulty, but wasn't it a titanium (oxide) paint coating to the case?

Vaguely remember problems with it peeling off in a couple of cases.

Not on my MBP (yet), haven't had it long enough. My PowerBook, which has the same finish as the MBP, was a complete mess after about 9 months, though.
