Indexing Apple Loops is terribly slow

Drag & drop a folder containing new Apple Loops on your system (/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/xxx) into Logic Pro 8's loop browser in order to get it indexed :

THIS TAKES MANY HOURS TO COMPLETE !!!

Does anyone have the same complain ?

Also, when adding a single region from the arrange window by choosing the local menu "Region > Add to Apple Loops browser", it takes 15 seconds to complete. With Garage Band, the same operation only takes 1 second !

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

If it's still working, it's SUPER slow! I've been trying to add folders w/ loops for some time, but it's just saying "Adding Loops to the Loop Browser" forever... I was hoping I could make a shortcut doing the indexing in GB, but it doesn't seem to work; no Search Index txt-fil is created.

I'm having the same issue, and it's about the only gripe that I have at present with Logic. I have several discs of Loops for Acid that I used to use with Sonar, I can't seem to get them into Logic. Help, please!

I've the same problem with logic pro 8.0.2,
The solution is to add the loops with garageband, it works nice.
and now loops are available into Logic.
