Can I do a Stop Motion Movie in iMovie?

Can I make a stop motion video from a bunch of stills in iMovie? I can't figure out where to start... not to mention iMovie seems to think I'm in love with the Ken Burns effect, which I'm not and has applied it to every one of my frames. I can't remove it without doing it for each individual frame - painful! I recall iMovie being so simple and straight forward years ago but haven't used it in a long while. Now when I look at it I'm completely lost. Is this because I'm not starting out with video that it doesn't show me a timeline with my stills in it?

Yes, if you have the patience. (It's probably easier with QT Pro -- i.e., "Open Image Sequence" File menu option.)

Start by making/creating/separating the frames and ordering them.

It's a lot easier if you change your "Initial Photo Placement" option in the "Project Properties..." window from "Ken Burns" to "Fit in Frame" before adding your material to the project."

Try expanding your "clip icons" to "0.5 second" to create a two-dimensional "pseudo" timeline.
