Contacts not grouping alphabetically...

My wife and I both own iPhones. My Contacts list is grouped by letter and I can search it by using the alphabet list on the right hand side of the screen. My wife's Contact list, however, is one giant list of names and is not divided by letter. I can not find any place in the settings to change this. I have about 50 contacts, and she has around 15... will this make a difference? How do we make my wife's contact list like mine: grouped by letter, alphabetically?

Please help!

The magic number is 20. At 20 contacts the list becomes separated with the letters. I wish they documented this somewhere...

If you go into 'Settings' and then into 'Phone' check how her 'Contact' settings are set. My 'Sort Order' is set as "Last,First" and my 'Display Order' is "First,Last".....and each of mine are separated by the letter, with all the letters of the alphabet on the right hand side for searching....like yours!

Both of ours are set up the same way, like yours, with Sort Order as "Last, First" and Display Order as "First, Last".

Is there a magic number of contacts, say 20, that kicks in the separation by letter? I have around 50 and she has around 15, so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it?

Ahhh.......so there is a "Magic Number"! That's good to know! I tried to research for an answer and had no luck! Glad you figured it out! 😉
