Smart Tags-fields In Pages???

I have made templates of commonly used forms I use daily for several projects.

Is there a way to enter text in one field and it automatically changes every occurrence that text would be found (ie: project number, Job name) in that document?

I tried to make a separate folder and add projects into the address book. Apparently only one address can be used at a time. Is their a way around this? That also would be nice to be able to drag several addresses into a document as a copy to: or participant list with company and email info in meeting minutes.

I have searched for this on the forums, but either have not entered the correct words, its too easy and I should be able to find it, or it is not a popular idea.

Hi KrrP,
Welcome to Pages discussions.

I don't see any way in Pages to do as you wish. Yes that would be a nice feature for sure.

A possible workaround; I've used a table many times in a word processing document to create an invoice and project type document. Enter information in a cell it will replicate to others as needed. Example in cell B2 enter =A1. When you type KrrP in A1 it also appears in B2. Yes yes I know kind of cheesy do excuse me but, it worked for that project.

The folks on these Discussion boards are, as yourself end users not Apple employees. Send feedback directly to the Pages team for enhancement requests: at the top of your screen to the right of the blue Apple please click "Pages" > "Provide Pages Feedback", now describe in detail what your desire is. This makes your request known to the Pages team directly. However, don't expect any feedback from the Pages team. I've sent many as well.

Let's hope the next version of iWork incorporates many of the requested enhancements.

Thank you in advance for doing that.

Again, welcome to Pages Discussions, have fun here.

Sincerely,
RicD

Hello

Ric's tip is fine.

Here is an other approach:

Use symbolic strings like ##project number## or ##Job name##

Then, when you wish to fill a document, go to the Find/Replace tool.
In the Find field, enter a symbolic string and, in the Replace field, enter the true value.
Then click to "Replace all". Every occurence of the symbolic string will be replaced by the typed string.
