Some shadows on the display (iMac 24, white modell)

Hello,

I got some kind of shadows on the display of my white iMac 24'.
They seems to be "behind" the Mouse, maybe on the backlight level. Also it seems that the shadows grow :-/
They are right under the iSight.
As I use my Mac for photo processing it is very annoying.
Do I have to send my Mac to Apple for that or is this some kind of dust?

best regards,
Nihab

(How do I post some image here?)

hi. Following this thread and others like it with interest. Similar problem here. Top left hand corner of screen. There seems to be a greyish foggy, smokey puffy cloud like shape which is cut through with a darker area shaped like a line, which appears to be the actual hue of the screen color. You would be forgiven for thinking it was condensation, or something like it. Seems to be behind the LCD screen.
If you look at it from a certain angle it has been sometimes hard to see. It's easiest to see when the display is off or asleep, black. But I can see it now and it's irritating, particularly as it seems to be spreading. The top left hand corner is the hottest part of the computer, the glass there, the LC, is quite warm to touch, not exactly hot, warm. In contrast, the top right hand side is also pretty warm, but not half as much. Again in contrast, bottom left and right are both cool.

Someone mentioned glue and heat. I don't fancy taking it to the doctor, it's not exactly a work horse but I need it for a lot of work related stuff, so about 3 or 4 hours a day, and I need it to do my billing! Essential. Here in Spain we don't have apple stores, just authorised service, meaning I bet they take ages.
Someone else also mentioned taking it out themselves using suction wotsits, cleaning it, there was stuff on the inside of the LCD, and that seemed to work so I'm thinking that if it is that then maybe doing ot myself...it's an option - I noticed he or she did it on the same model as mine, an aluminium 20" intel 2Ghz (mid 2007 - purchased late November) - still in warranty - but the description of the stain is different, in fact I haven't seen a post with the same description as mine. So I think I'll link to a couple of pics tomorrow or the day after (am real busy). I'm going to be waiting and following what happens here, watching to see if it gets bigger. I can take it in in August when I'm off work. I had my old imac grape for ten years, no issues, what's up now?

Let me jump in as well. 24" aluminum fresh from the box a week ago. Set my desktop to my usual medium grey and noticed the fog. I am an illustrator and Graphic Designer so I work on white pages to start. Won't stop me from working but I'd take a new car back if the windshield were fogged in an area. Just called applecare and they suggested I hook up my flawless 23" flat screen to see if the fog is still there. I'll do so and report back but after reading these threads I suspect it is a delay tactic, eh?

Don't insurance companies do that as well? Sad Mac sad.

I'm having the same issue with my white iMac 24" (bought Sept. 2006)
Talked to AppleCare today, there seems to no program which would cover it ;((
Any solution, like opening it and wiping the dirt out? Don't think so...

A replacement of the display would cost 850€. A bit too much for me, better wait and buy another of those awesome iMacs!
