Clock "Screensaver" on New iPod Classics

I really can not stand the default clock screensaver on the new iPod Classic. Is there any way to turn it off?

Also, I am very disappointed in the volume issue with the Classic. Any way around this? I have read through the other threads on the volume problems and it looks like an overwhelming "NO" on this issue. Figured I would ask again.

Anyway, the clock screensaver...

No way to turn it off. People have been wanting that in a firmware for awhile.

Unless there's a hack somewhere out there.

The 5th Gen and prior iPod's displayed a dimmed version of the "Now Playing" screen instead. Some people found it much nicer to be able to see that information rather than the time.

The clock screensaver is the worst. I used the form posted above to let Apple know. Thanks for posting the link. The only way we can get the Classic changed is to let apple know.

ugh i hate the clockwhen i'm listening to music. I also wish we could have an option to toggle it on or off.

So i just purchased the ipod classic 80G.. and i actually LIKE the clock screen saver.. i thought it was a feature for both 80G and 160G..
does the 80G have it built in? or is it only for the 160G?

Yes, it is built-in as a part of the firmware of both the 80 and 160GB Classic(s).

I really don't mind the clock screensaver. I do, however, understand the position of many users wanting to have the song info displayed instead.

This should be a user configurable option to choose which screensaver a user would like to display.

okay.. thanks. now can you tell me how i get it to show the clock? i've looked through all the settings and extras but besides the alarm, calender and clock, there's nothing with the slightest resemblence of a "clock screensaver"
help me out? thanks!

Well, it sounds like you don't have a 80GB iPod Classic ... you've got a 80GB iPod Video. Classics are 6th Gen, the version you have is a 5.5 Gen iPod. Either that, or you aren't running the correct firmware for your iPod.
