Stuck on the Apple Logo

Hi,

Every evening when I go to watch something on Apple TV, it has frozen on the Apple logo and needs to be restarted to make anything work. This has only started happening since the new update...

Anyone else had this or know how to sort it out?

Using the remote makes a clicking sound, like using the menu but nothing happens, it just sticks on the Apple logo! 😟

Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz, 4GB, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

I have an Apple TV and ever since the 2.0 update I have been having an issue where the Apple Logo pops up on the screen randomly and then goes back to the main Apple TV screen. This is happening more and more often lately.

I have it hooked up to a Panasonic Plasma 50" TV via component video and analog audio.

I have reset the device back to defaults and re-synced several times and no luck.

Am I having the same issues as you guys are with HDMI?

i solved my problem of the apple logo by disabling the screen saver. I haven't had a problem in 2 weeks compared to before multiple times a day.

i just started having that too, this post is sooo long, is there a good way to fix this?

edit:

mine just snapped out of it's logo trance and gave me 3 options: restart, diognostics, or restore. a restart worked. i hope this doesnt happen all the time.

I have it on good authority that the latest ATV update, 2.1, from a few days ago to coincide with the launch of MobileMe should have fixed this known bug.

Can anyone confirm? I'm updating my box now but it will take a day or 2 to confirm myself.

I updated to 2.1 a few days ago and I don't want to jinx it but so far I have had zero freezes. Crossing fingers.

Since 2.1 I've not seen any "Stuck on the Apple Logo" events. I did experience a few "Stuck on a frozen photo screensaver" lockup's though... requiring a power cycle to clear. Probably too early to say if the Apple Logo issue is fixed, but the screensaver problem was new. I've disabled the screensaver and I'll see if that helps.
