I'm pretty sure that using my iPhone to listen to music in the tanning beds is causing the phone to malfunction. This is the second time I've noticed a problem -- no sounds and having to use the speaker to send and receive calls. The screen hasn't been affected.
Has anyone else had this problem? And spare me the 'tanning is bad for you' lectures :P
Thanks!
Melissa
between the heat and humidity I would not suggest placing it in the tanning bed, maybe on the floor under it
Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)
Nonoperating temperature: -4° to 113° F (-20° to 45° C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
Thanks for the fast response, Puppy!
Could be - but I was using a level 2 bed this time and I'm sure it didn't get over 95 degrees. Also, I thought heat would damage the battery not the internal mechanisms or whatnot.
I'm going to try keeping it turned off for an hour or so. Any and all feedback is welcome!
The problem seems to have fixed itself (again)! I won't, however, be taking it in the tanning bed again. Lesson learned.
Thanks, guys -- it looks like you two were right 🙂
Happy Mac-in!
Melissa
While the UV itself shouldn't cause any interference, there is a lot of magnetic fields associated with the lighting used. Magnetic clips on cases have caused similar symptoms, as discussed in this article:

Thanks, Nathan!
I accidentally brought it in again for just a minute or two and it's doing the same thing. I'll post tomorrow if it's still acting up but it has fixed itself the last two times.
