Apple working on SUS fix? Test Update in SUS list

Has anyone else noticed a file in the SUS list called Test Update, with a note saying:

This update is not intended to apply to any system. It is being released to test the function of the Software Update Server.

Me too, all seems back to 'normal'.
I did have the following error in the log however..
swupd_syncd[62] <Error>: swupd_syncd failed with CantCacheDataException: Couldn't write http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/02/36/061-4589/q9Q23qT4S9T4bVNwHmPhJVGn wJpkXsSN2t/061-4589.sv.dist to /usr/share/swupd/html/content/downloads/02/36/061-4589/q9Q23qT4S9T4bVNwHmPhJVGn wJpkXsSN2t/061-4589.sv.dist. I dont think I did anything to rectify the situation directly. All permissions looked ok. I ran the software Update in client mode from the Aple and that hinted I had a firmware and safari update that I elected not to do. I'm happy its back and look forward to the next delights... 😉
cheers

I managed to fix this issue. 🙂 What I did was looked in the log for software update server under "Software Update Server Log" and copy and pasted the link "http:// swscan.apple.com/content/meta/mirror-config-1.plist" and pasted that into Safari, once that opened up in safari save that page as a txt file to desktop.. it will save as "mirror-config-1.plist.txt". Once thats done remove the ".txt" from the file name thru file information panel. Open Finder and navigate to /usr/share/swupd/html and place a copy of that mirror-config-1.plist file in here and a copy in /usr/share/swupd/content/catalogs/ then restart the server. All should be well. 🙂

I just got this same error on a fresh install of 10.5.2 Server. I tried machead08's fix but no difference.

In my log, I get exactly:

<Error>: swupd_syncd failed with SUCatalogLoaderException: We've been foiled by the SUCatalogLoader: no local display name. Drat.

...within a few seconds of starting the service.

Again, this is a fresh install that has never worked... so it's got to be something pretty obvious... if only I knew where to look!

Any ideas anyone?
