G4 15" powerbook protective covers

Greetings to all,

I have looked all over, but haven't found a cover, sleeve, shell or what ever for my laptop. I see so many cool protective shells for the macbooks and macbook pro's. They have some amazing snap on plastic sleeves, and leather mold shells for all the newer laptops, but nothing for my 15" powerbook G4.

Does anyone know where I can get a good protective cover for my laptop? This aluminum computer is very slippery. I don't want to drop it or ding it.

That is a good point... Some of these shells come with the space for the vents unblocked. Others still yet, block those vents, protecting everything about the machine. Though I believe the TechShell ones, of course, don't block out the ports on the sides.

I don't think the shells would cause any more problem than if you were using your PowerBook on the desk top (like I do) without any laptop stand to allow heat/air to flow underneath.

By the same token, it could cause the PowerBook to run hot if not hotter if it does block the fan/vents. But if the shell you do find (and I know there are more out there that we don't know about) leaves the access to the vents open, then I believe you will be fine.

Like I said, having a shell cover the bottom case is like using it on your desk without a laptop stand. I can say that my 15-inch PowerBook stays very quiet. My 12-inch PowerBook runs fans a lot and I bought a laptop stand plus a cooler for it.

But I'm sure that is due to the way the 12-inch PowerBook is designed. Everything compact in such a small footprint/form-factor. Whereas the 15-inch PowerBook has room to breathe. (I've never heard the fans go on in this machine. If it has, it is very faint that I don't notice it. Unlike my 12-inch model).
