I'm considering getting an Apple TV when I move in a few months. I found one article mentioning that you can't connect to the internet with the ethernet port. Does this mean I can't use it as a wireless repeater/booster/access point too? I was considering having the Airport base station upstairs with the non-airport printer and using the Apple TV for what it was designed but also a access point/repeater for the downstairs. Is this possible?
MacBook Pro ('06) / Mac Pro ('08),
Mac OS X (10.5.2)
if the product has the hardware capacity, then the software should allow all of the various Apple hardware that has an Airport, Ethernet, USB, & Audio to offer similar basic functionality to the end user.
ie: the AppleTV should be capable of acting like an AirPort Express just like a Time Capsule acts like an AirPort Extreme.
