Bizarre bug causing invisible windows!

A really weird problem just started where Safari will start without an open window. Opening new windows shows them listed in the Window dropdown list, but they don't appear on the screen. Rebooting initially fixes it, but once the screensaver activates the problem happens again.

Anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix?

Hi,

That's strange. Did this follow any recent updates which you applied, or any software which you installed? Are you currently using any third-party add-ons? Like input managers or download helpers? Poke around both the Library folder in your home folder, and in your HD/. Look especially in the Application Support, Internet Plug-ins, and InputManagers folders (if they exist).

I just found my Safari windows... seems they got hidden in a pocket above where my screen ends in no-man's-land. I went to the Window menu and chose minimize and saw the window come out from the top of my screen and shrink down into the dock. when I clicked on the little window in the dock it sprang back to the imaginary space above my screen. I just sent my cursor up there (where I couldn't see it) and dragged the window back down. I am assuming that my laptop thinks that theres a second monitor installed to show what's up there... I am checking that out now.

Perhaps you have a similar issue?

James
