The minimize button disappeared!

My minimize button turns grey and become unavailable when I use Spaces sometimes.

When I switch to Space 2 and then switch back, the windows in Space 1 are all unable to be minimized.
The button turned grey while the other two remain in color.

This most occurs when Space 2 is running Windows Xp in Vmware Fusion.

Any suggestions?

Same problem, I found the solution on:

http://forums.macnn.com/90/mac-os-x/362548/cannot-minimize-windows/

They are saying to open a QuickTime movie in full screen mod, and it will fix the problem; personally, I tried to use the Quick Look* option, and going in full screen mod, and fixed the issue within few seconds.

*Note: The Quick Look is present under the Mac OS X Leopard, using the Mighty Finder.

This bug has been reported over an year ago... and is still not fixed! Common guys...

How to reproduce the bug:

1) Open Firefox
2) Use keyboard short cut to switch to a space having a full screen app (VLC or VMWare confirmed so far)
3) Use keyboard short cut to switch back to original space having Firefox.
4) Find the little yellow minimize guy grayed out and disabled.

Please fix it 🙂 Or is fixed in Snow Leopard already?

Still happens to me on 10.6.1

I can't believe this bug is still around. Wasn't this the entire point of Snow Leopard? To fix these kinds of silly things and make Leopard more polished?

I was experiencing this problem with VMWare Fusion but not any longer. With 10.6.1 and Fusion 2 there was a problem but now that Fusion 3 has been released the problem has disappeared.

It may be caused by Apple but it would appear that VMWare have done something to resolve it.

It's not fixed with that configuration, I'm using Snow Leopard and VMWare Fusion 3 - I have exactly the same problem I had a year ago.

<rant>Apple are meant to be all about the user experience, this has been an issue for well over a year, closing and reopening a window to get a minimise button back defeats the point in minimise. Apple - get your finger out, and start plugging this bug. </rant>

The minimize button disappeared!
