Trackpad Scrolling - Distorted Text

I have a brand new MBP and have noticed something strange when scrolling using the trackpad (two finger gesture)...when scrolling in Safari text will become distorted. For example, on this board here, if I scroll the page using the trackpad, some lines of text will become distorted and almost unreadable. If I scroll past it and then return, sometimes the text returns to normal. Anyway, it happens a lot but only when scrolling using the trackpad. If I use the arrow keys I do not have this problem. Anyone else see this? If not, can you give it a test and report back?

Thanks

I have the feeling, my troubles are over.
Did not see the distortion or flickering for nearly two weeks now.
Also Apple Germany called ⚠ me telling me they also read this discussions and were concerned if I still have the problem.
Unfortunately, I cannot tell when exactly my MBP stopped behaving like that or what I did before.
I think it was around the time of the last Safari Update though.

its easy for us to sit here and ask that but they have to first be able to confirm it is an error and that it is wide spread.

once they have done that they have to reproduce it, then trace the issue, then figure out what needs to be changed then figure out how to develop an update to fix it then try the update inhouse/with developers, then if all that works release it.

that is for each individual issue they have confirmed.

I am having the exact same problem. I am getting distorted text (and graphics) in Mail and Safari when 2-finger scrolling some of the time. I am also have the problem in Opera (but not in Firefox). When I restart it is ok. I would be really interested in a fix for this! I just got my Macbook Pro about 2 weeks ago and I don't really want to have to go over to the Apple store (what a pain that place is!). I hope it ends up being a software fix.

I started having the same problem today. Started wile doing some heavy editing in Aperture. For me it happens everywhere that I can see an edge. (On text, on graphics, pictures, thumbnails, the edge of the menu bar, on pretty well anything I move the cursor over. It happens both with the track-pad and my mighty mouse. I thought it may have been because the Mighty-Mouse battery was dying, but it continued after a battery change to new ones. I restarted the system, and the computer, reset the PRAM, searched for updates, unplugged the power cord, plugged it back in, read all your comments, but still no change. This is a real problem for one who uses this machine for work. I wouldn't doubt if the problem started with the last update. I have had to revert back to a previous update in the past because of problems. I am running 10.4.10 in my MBP 2.2Ghz, so it is not only a 10.5.2 problem. If I find out anything, I will post. Thanks for all your inputs.

Did a little more checking today (Have a photo shoot and need to use my laptop for image capture and hopefully editing). The entire screen gets garbled when editing in Aperture, so it is impossible to edit there. Have to use G5 and Photoshop. Hardware Test came up with nothing. I started from the installation CD and the problem disappeared. I wonder if Apple can suggest a temporary work around, like reverting to a previous update, until they get the next one out. I prefer to spend my time living life rather than fixing the problems of the tools that are supposed to help us be more efficient. Anyhow, I suppose it will be a distant memory once solved. Cheers, Howard.

Me too.
I get the wavy lighting when waking the computer up sometimes, no matter the duration of sleep. Twice, after only just putting to computer to sleep, the lighting has not come on again though you can just see the contents of the display. Putting the computer back to sleep and waking it up again after a spell usually solves this problem.
