I have a 2011 GL and have synced my white iphone 4 to the cars bluetooth. However every time I turn the car off and restart, I lose my connection and have to manually resync with the cars bluetooth. My car seems to remember the phone however my iphone requires me to turn bluetooth off and then back on to find the car every time. Any suggestions on how to repair would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Just got my new GLK 350 2012, and it seems like the problems with iPhone integration continue.
I didn't paid for the navigation system that included some sort of iPhone/iPod compatibility, but i was something like 3000 bucks, and I'm more iPhone-centric.
Anyway, the import of contacts from the Macbook as indicated here, worked like a charm!.. and now the iPhone works with the Bluetooth system. Now I have to figure it out how to make the music to play in the car without using a loooong aux cable.
I just recently purchased a 2009 C300. I found a solution to the problem of importing contacts. Not sure if it would work for everyone but...
I have a Macbook. This is just some general instructions for the solution that worked for me. Perhaps I could provide more specific details later.
I went to my contacts and exported a vCard file to my desktop. When I did this, I only selected the top most likely contacts that I might call. This was about 45 of my 300 contacts. I saved the file to my desktop. I then took my Macbook out to my C300 sitting in the driveway. I activated Bluetooth on my Macbook and then attempted to activate Bluetooth in the MB system options. It searched and connected my Macbook as if it were an audio device. Perhaps a Bluetooth headphone device. I then went to the MB telephone options and asked to Receive vCards. From my Macbook, through the Bluetooth File Exchange program, I sent my vCard file to the MB Handsfree Bluetooth connection. Bam...the contacts downloaded. Worked like a charm. Please let me know if this worked for anyone else. I presume this general solution would work the same for a Windows pc.
That's funny, I have a 2010 B200 and had no problems pairing my iPhone 4S runing iOS 5.01. It works always and without any difficulties at all. The problem with synching contacts is a separate issue and has to do with the iPhone's inability to export vCards. If you have any Mac laptop running OS X Snow Leopard or Lion it is easy, as described by "Javg" in this forum. You don't need any apps to do it, but you do need to spend some time cleaning-up your Address Book and selecting your most important contacts before exporting it to vCard and uploading to your MB audio system.
Alternatively, you can purchase an extension cable for your media connection and use the phone to dial, instead of the audio system. Just check on eBay for iPhone extension cable and purchase one that will enable all the functions, such as this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/iPhone-4-iPod-30-Pin-Dock-Extender-Extension-Cable-Cord-/ 290576111841?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item43a7af98e1
I hope this helps.
Shame I didn't read ur post but for 2 weeks had that issue until I discovered the 4 digits key and solved my pairing problem. But can't get the address book, how did u do it ? I have a c200 Mercedes and uses its built in console and Bluetooth. Thanks,
I happen to have my old Blackberry lying around so I downloaded my address book from the backup, paired with the audio system on the MB and imported everything. If you can borrow a Blackberry and import all your contacts, this is one of the easiest ways to do it. The MB audio imports all the contacts auromatically from the Bberry. Alternatively, I would suggest using one of the methods mentioned by other members, using a laptop computer paired with your MB audio.
does any one know how to get the internet to work using an iphone 4?
at the dealer a guy used a old nokia and it works but i can´t get it to work on my iphone. why is that? i have every thing conected but the internet and the sms. i have a C180 coupe.
Sory for my english i´m from brazil.
Yes. Go to http://wireless4mb.com/index.html . It has vehicle instructions for every Mercedes Model and specific instruction for each iPhone carrier. I just paired my Apple iPhone 4s (Sprint) to my 2009 C300 4Matic Sport this morning.
Hello darryl7777, the link you sent almost helped me. i already have the audio and phone conected, the internet is the one not conected.
On that website there is no answer to my question.
Which is: will the comand online of my c180 coupe 2012 work with my iphone 4. because it works with a old nokia.
Any one know how to get it to work? is it a iphone problem, a mercedez problem or is it me?
I have an SL500 2008 update. The blutooth has been working perfectly with both my and my wife's IPhone. Now neither work. As soon as a call comes the entire console screen freezes and it takes 30 secs to reboot or reset by itself. I have de authorised both phones and re paired them but to no avail. I fear that the Mercedes Blu tooth is no longer compatible with the latest OS V5. But then I found your online advice but am unsure what i have to do for thismodel merc to reset. Can you please advise what i would need to do?

The specific Frequently Asked Question indicates:
Is it possible to transfer phone numbers from my mobile phone to the phone system?
Check in the function list for your mobile phone whether the functions “Send contacts” and “Import directory” are available. For details on transferring numbers, follow the information in the operating instructions for your mobile phone selected from the compatibility list.
Unfortunately, you alter your iPhone (if you know what I mean).
I'm not certain if you found an answer yet. I was able to get my contacts in, but it was a little complicated. I could not import my contacts directly from my iPhone. I used the saved contacts on my laptop (MacBook Pro) and I selected the contacts I wanted to transfer. I saved the selected contacts into a Vcard file. I then paired my MacBook Pro to my 2009 C300 via bluetooth (my wifi was still in range between my home and my vehicle in the driveway). Then sent the Vcard file to the C300 via bluetooth and the contacts were imported. (It has been awhile since I did this but I think I had to initiate the file transfer on my laptop, then initiate the import contacts on my C300.) There were a couple of error messages in the process about the headset settings not being valid, or something like that. Just ignore those error messages. The process worked fine for me. Hope this helps. Essentially, to get the contacts in, you have to create a Vcard file on your laptop, pair your laptop with your MB, then send the contacts to MB from your laptop.
My father have and S-350 jun-2007 and last week bought and iphone 4S (5.1.1) and the MB Bluetooth adaptor 67880000 wich the MB dealer told it was the last one compatible with 4S. It has pair without problems and can use the phone (send, receive calls), but the contacts has been transfered only one entry per contact (if a contact have cell, home, bussines, only transfer the first one) and in diferent order (surname, name) than displayed on the iphone (name, surname) what it is really anoying.
Anyone knows how to solve this, need to update command APS firmware or something like that??
Sorry for my english (i am from Spain) and thanks in advance.
Regarding receiving text messages with an iPhone for Mercedes Benz it now works!!! A couple of things you need to know;
1. Need a 3GS or newer,
2. Need iOS 6,
3. Pair iPhone to car,
4. Go to settings on the phone, select Bluetooth, tap on the blue arrow beside the MB connection,
5. Ensure 'notification' is on!
Voila, it works instantly!!!
If your Benz can display text messages the TXT MSG on the telephone display will no longer be grayed out!
In my 13 GLK it can only display and/or read out a text but you can use SIRI to respond by voice if you have a 4s or 5.
