Need urgent help with shuffle-computer can't see the device

Hi everyone who tries to help!
I bought an ipod shuffle a few days ago and downloaded itunes. The problem is my computer can't see ipod as a device and doesn't show it on My Computer window when plugged in.. I tried to use setup wizard but ipod can't be synced as it says 'necessary software can't be found to install new device'.. And also in Itunes window I can't see the 'devices' section on the left column.. I'm really getting so frustrated and I will have no hair left soon if I can't sort this out.. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!

I am also having the same problem with my 2nd gen shuffle. I re-installed the USB driver exactly as instructed in article 305136 and my PC still doesn't recognize the iPod in iTunes. Instead, what I am seeing in iTunes under Device/iPod is the iPod Software License agreement, which I have already agreed & saved to my computer, several times in fact.

The really strange thing is that I had been successful in sync-ing the iPod one time only. However, I've since added songs to iTunes and wanted to transfer them to my iPod. Now for some reason iTunes is not recognizing the iPod anymore. What could have happened, and what else can I possibly do to fix ?? I have already re-installed iTunes and the USB drivers. Please help!

When I chose Update driver and selected windows\inf folder - it said that it was already at the latest revision. When I uninstalled and then did a "scan for hardware changes", it found it, still called it a storage device, looked fine for a minute, then got the yellow exclamation point beside it again.
