Importing email from Thunderbird to Mail

Having problems trying to import email messages from Thunderbird to Mail. Does anyone have it figured out? Can't believe it's not more straight forward. The import window doesn't list Mozilla Thunderbird? Thunderbird files don't end with .mbx they end with .sbd - any help would be appreciated.

Elgin,

since Thunderbird is a Mozilla-based client, you would select "Mozilla" in Mail's import dialog. However, since Mail's import function from TB has some shortcomings (it doesn't deal with Windows and older Mac files, you will lose all your message status flags, ...) you might want to take a look at Eudora Mailbox Cleaner as an alternative (and imports messages from TB to Mail as well):

Thank you so much Andreas. The Eudora Mailbox Cleaner work flawlessly. Greatly relieved of the anxiety of loosing my email. Good work, no, great work!!!

This worked great! a little drag and drop afterwards, and things were smooth as ever! It's great to use Mail with the OS supporting it so well. Thanks.
