Using Airport Express With Xbox 360

After learning my Xbox 360 cannot connect to my Time Capsule wirelessly, I've decided to purchase a new Airport Express (802.11n), hoping to simply plug my Xbox into the ethernet port of the Express. Can the new Airport Express be used to share the wireless signal from my Time Capsule to a "wired" client, such as my Xbox 360?
Thank you, in advance, for your help.

torpified, Welcome to the discussion area!

Yes if you wirelessly connect the 2 using 802.11g's WDS OR 802.11n's "extend network" feature.

I have had this problem too. I used to use the old Airport Extreme and that worked fine. Now I have the new AirPort Express and suddenly my XBox simply won't link with it. I am using the wireless adapter on my 360, and it will show up in the network listing, ask for my password, and say "Connected" over the four bars of connection status, but it won't get past "Wireless Network" when trying to connect during the XBox Live Connection Test.

Apple better fix this, and fast! 7.3.1 hasn't done a thing. Anyone who solves this soon, you have my gratitude!

All -- I've been reading these posts with great interest since I just replaced my older AX with a newer "N" model...and since then, I have not been able to use the Ethernet port to connect my Xbox 360 to the Net. Well, I just got it working...thanks to the information contained in these posts.

I have a Time Capsule as my main base station and I configured the AX in many different ways, had to reset it probably 5-6 times to get it to work at all, etc. The one that worked was to change it from "join a wireless network" to "extend a wireless network." I made this one simple change, restarted the AX, booted up the Xbox 360 (connected via Ethernet to the AX) and -- IT WORKED. I'm now back on Xbox Live.

I must have spent 5 hours over the past few days trying to configure the AX to do what the old one did for me in being able to hardwire the 360 to the AX. With the old one, it was set up in WDS mode. With the new one, I didn't have to bother with WDS (and have to reconfigure the Time Capsule as a WDS main...)

I hope this helps someone.
