I loaded Aperture on a second machine and to be able to run both at the same time I need a second license. No problem there, especially with the price drop. However, how or where do I enter the newly purchased serial number?
Thanks, Peter
MacBook Pro,
Mac OS X (10.4.11),
30" Cinema Display, Aperture
The numbers there don't seem too be the same that I entered to begin with. What if I just trashed this file? Would Aperture just ask me to type in a serial number again as if it were a new install, allowing me to register it with the new serial number?
No need to wait for his reply. It's a simple matter to test it yourself. Just move the file someplace safe if you're unsure so you can move it back if you have a problem.
This does work fine - I had a volume license for Aperture, which I was no longer covered under. Bought my own, trashed this file, launched Aperture and it requested new serial numbers - none of my data was damaged or altered.
Have both computers on, and capable of seeing each other through your network. Start Aperture on one machine, and when it runs, then start Aperture on the second machine. The second copy should ask you to install a valid Aperture license serial number.
Thanks, this was driving me crazy. My husband installed into on my computer so I could see if I liked it. I loved it and bought a copy but couldn't figure out how to remove his serial number. Worked like a charm.
I own Logic Studio and have already had it loaded but changed the drive for a bigger drive and have to reload it. I have registered the software before and now that i have to load it again, can't find the serial number card or book or whatever came with it. Is there a way to retrieve a serial number from Apple? I don't find a link to do that...
