I can not get my bluetooth to turn off. I have tried the menu bar, system prefrences, making a new account, running maintence scripts, and more, all to no avail. What else can be done?
I have a similar problem, and there seems to be no solution. My Bluetooth keeps turing on without my permission. I have all the Bluetooth settings in the System Preference "Hardware/Bluetooth" and the System Preference "Internet & Network/Network" turned off and all the appropriate boxes checked and/or unchecked. I have no Bluetooth devices. From time to time, the Bluetooth Icon on my Menu Bar turns black (from grey), and I have to go to that Icon and select "turn off Bluetooth" from the dropdown menu. The Bluetooth Icon then becomes grey again. Why does my Bluetooth keep coming on, and how do I get it to stop? This could be a potential security issue.
is there a device connected to your bluetooth because Mac OS X will not let you turn off the bluetooth to stop data corruption so make sure you dont have a device connected.
First, the problem that I am having is the opposite of what that thread is about. Their bluetooth won't turn on, mine won't turn off. Also I tried an SMC reset and it did nothing.
