Preview will not print tiff files

I cannot get my printer to print tiff files from preview ever since I upgraded to tiger the other dat. I read where some had mentioned dumping preview 3.0 and going back to preview 2.0. How do I go about doing this?

If you have Panther CDs, you can use the utility "Pacifist" from www.versiontracker.com to install the file Preview.

Walter, I can print .tif or .tiff files from Preview 3.0.1 in Tiger 10.4.2 with my Epson CX4600 All-In-One. What Printer are you using?

I am using a HP photosmart 7550. Do you think thre may be new drivers from HP for tiger?

Walter, if you haven't checked the HP site for Tiger-compatible drivers you should do that first. I don't think trying to use Preview 2.0 with Tiger would be wise.

I went to the HP website and updated to the most recent driver which was issued in August. I tend to not suspect the printer as I keep getting a message that says "error while printing" even when I hit the option for PDF in the print dialogue box. This stinks as I print a lot of documents from tiff in email that I recieve for my business. I am starting to wonder if I really needed tiger at all.

I am also having a problem printing tiff files - I get the same error while printing message. I am using an HP LaserJet 4250, which is giving me nothing but trouble all around. HP has a firmware update for the printer which is supposed to solve some of my networking problems but so far I have been unable to install the firmware update using my Mac (HP's tech support advice -- get a "normal" computer that can install the Windows version of the firmware update).

Let me know what you learn. I don't get a lot of tiff files, but I do get them from time to time.

I am having problems printing TIF files form Preview 3.0.1
Error while printing.
I can print normally those files with abobe. This is very strange. I do not have any problems with printer with all other softwares.
Any ideas>?

this is a bug of OSX 10.4.2. or Preview 3.0.1>
