Amount of space audiobooks take

I am thinking about buying a 2 GB iPod shuffle and wanted to know how many hours of "spoken word" audiobook 2 GB will hold. I like to listen to a couple of books at the same time and don't want to get an undersized device. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Apple specs say the 2GB mpdel can hold about 500 songs that are 4 minutes each that are encoded at 128 bps, which is about 2000 minutes or 33+ hours of audio. I assume audio books are probably encoded at a lower bit rate, so they would take up even less space so you should be able to put even more on there.
I don't know how long audio books normally are, but if they are under 15 hours each, then you could fit two onto the 2BG shuffle.

A few data points:

I have a mix of audiobooks in several encodings on my 1GB shuffle using 876MB for 23 hours and 44 minutes of listening time.

One of those is a book encoded at 64kpbs in joint stereo using 361MB providing 11hours and 5 minutes of listening time.

Another is at 128kpbs using 472.5MB providing 8 hours and 36 minutes of listening.
