Epson Printer Utility can't be found

I have an Epson printer. I keep the Epson Printer Utility in my dock, because I use it a lot. The version in my dock is 2.12. The version in the finder is 1.23. I threw the 1.23 in the trash. The version in my dock still works, but I can't find it anywhere on my hard disk. I would like to add it to my husband's dock, but it can not be found even with spotlight. He had 1.23 in his dock, but it didn't work even before I threw it in the trash.

Have you ever heard of an app that is not in your computer but still runs on it? Grrr.
