quick swipe comping multiple tracks?

It SHOULD work on grouped tracks -- it does here. I"ve been using it to swipe/comp drum tracks for some time now.

Double check your "Group Settings" (in the same pull down slot where you set the group number) and make sure you have "region selection (edit)" checked. That should do it... I also have 'record enable' checked for my drum group, so that one click throws all drum tracks in and out of record.

As I say - it SHOULD work. Though I have on occasion seen a bug where switching takes on the grouped tracks mysteriously forgets to switch one stubborn track. But I haven't seen that in a while, so maybe it was fixed in 8.01

Hi all. I've searched the forum a bit for an answer, but couldn't find one. Here's the deal:

I finally need to do drum comping in Logic 8. I understand groups and enabling the edit feature, but man, am I getting some screwy results! (I have used the comping feature before on non-grouped tracks and it's worked fine.)

I can select whole takes, and every so often I can quick-swipe another take, but logic seems to erratically "undo" all my previous comps sometimes. Other times, it won't let me quick swipe at all. I'm in version 8.0.1.

Any ideas? Man, this thing would be a great tool *if it worked correctly*! I know, I know, no whining. But you gotta know how it feels when you're in the middle of a session.

ive been group comping around 11 songs for an album

some projects just got really messed up and i had to start again

luckily i backed everything up plenty of times, i suggest you do the same

when quick swiping, make sure you keep an eye on the groups being lit up, use the apple G 'group clutch' command, sometimes you'll turn it off for one thing and then forget to switch it back on, easy mistake to make

and to earlier poster, that bug is still existing in logic 8.01

when quickswiping, i like to break down the song bar by bar, or marker by marker first

cutting a comped region would always cause problems for me. I would just flatten the whole deal before cutting. Maybe they fixed this in the newest update.
