Photo orientation wrong when synched back to iPhone

Hi,

I take photos on my iPhone, then I put them into a folder and I keep that folder synched to the iPhone. That folder contains other photos from my Nikon cameras too.

Mostly all the photos I take on the iPhone are in the portrait orientation (1200x1600).

Unfortunately the portrait iPhone photos show up rotated incorrectly when synched back to the iPhone. When I turn the iPhone, it rotates the photo but it is still wrong.

I tried putting these photos into iPhoto and synching to an album...they then show up with the right orientation. But, I don't use iPhoto, I use Bridge/Photoshop, so this isn't really a good work around.

Anyone have a simple way to fix this?

Thanks!

This problem exists for all EXIF data. My Canon A590 saves using the EXIF flag and everything is sideways on my iPod Touch. The worst part is virtually every other Mac program respects the flag and shows them properly so it's a pain to even quickly find, let alone correct the actual orientation so stupid programs like iTunes that ignore the data will show them correctly on devices like the iPod Touch or iPhone. If I scroll through my photo collection, both Finder and even Photoshop show the vertical pictures correctly regardless of whether they are saved with the flag or are actually rotated. So good luck finding the wrong ones if your photos are mixed (e.g. Photo CD photos using my Canon EOS Rebel film camera are actually rotated properly while my cell phones are just wrong period).

A better question is why in the Universe hasn't Apple fixed this SIMPLE bug in any of the past iTunes updates? Do they not read ANY of their bug reports submitted to them? I don't think they do, to be honest. I've reported several simple bugs with AppleTV and asked a question about HD movie rentals that suddenly changed to standard definition PURCHASE only with no explanation. Several are STILL on the "Must See HD" AppleTV lists even, but you CANNOT rent them period. It's infuriating. They not only didn't reply, but they had the nerve to send me another e-mail asking me how my experience was. I responded to that and explained how they never replied and never addressed any of the issues and they ignored that reply too. Apple support is very poor, IMO. There is no excuse for this EXIF bug. It makes my iPod Touch look crappy when trying to show my photos.
