Put a Java app in the Dock?

I've got a Java application (Art of Illusion) that I use fairly frequently, and I'd like to put it in the dock for quick access. But OS X 10.4 won't let me drag the ArtOfIllusion.jar file to the dock. I'm assuming that this is because the Dock only accepts .app files, but there must be a way around this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You could write an application (.app) that launches the jar file. I've never compiled a program to .app before, but i'd say it would only be a few lines of code.
Maybe someone else could write a little application for you...

Hi John

Why not place it to the right of the divider on the Dock? Is there a reason why it must be on the left?

Never mind, I wrote a short AppleScript to do it:

do shell script "/usr/bin/open /applications/ArtOfIllusion2.1/ArtOfIllusion.jar"

Then I saved it as an Application. Works fine, but I was hoping there was some simple, elegant way to drag a .jar to the Dock.
