Norton Ghost Explorer for Mac?

I have some old Ghost images of a PC hard drive that has files I need to retrieve. I know that on Windows you can use Ghost Explorer to view inside and extract from Ghost images, but I can't find anything similar for Mac on Google. I fdon't need to create images, mind you, I just want access to the files inside the image!

Anyone know of anything out there that can do what I am asking?

Jan,

Photoshop and ImageReady are the two major parts of the same application.

I usually resize artwork I've created with Photoshop, then if it's a gif switch to ImageReady to setup the frame sequence and save an optimized version.

If I'm creating a small jpeg I save from PS then I open it with Preview and save as to the jpeg to get the file size down. The limit is 36x36 and 10K.

Yes. PhotoShop would work too if you have it.

But you can do it with the tools built-in to Tiger. I wrote an Automator application for my sister to put pictures on eBay and modified it for these forums. (Scale Picture for Apple Discussions.app) You're welcome to use it if you want:

My Public iDisk Folder

edit: My bad. The Automator app doesn't make sure the filesize is not > 10kb. I will see if I can fix that.

You can make to ghost file visable with various utilities including Cocktail. To get into it and use it as a HD or Disk Image is another. The files are coded as PC and must have a corresponding Mac app to read it, e.g.: Microsoft
Word PC/Mac; FreeHand or Illustrator PC/Mac. These are examples of files that have exchange capabilities. Dave or Timbuktu will translate PC to Mac. There are file translaters and you will have to find one. I use Virtual PC w/Window XP Pro. If you have a PC ( a friends or your own) you can save or convert the files to a "Mac friendly" file such as RTF, Word and etc. Burn a 'PC format' CD of the files or use ethernet to transport the file to a PC and back to Mac. A Mac will instantly connect w/PC's and a with a little tweaking, so will a PC. I've done this before.
Best Regards

Sorry, to answer your original question, a Mac has a 'Ghost Explorer' you mentioned built into the Finder. Go to the Desktop/Finder/Go/Go to Folder/ and type the path to the file. Invisible files or folders will become visable in this manner - not permanantly visable, though. You must type the path as exampled: hard drive name/folder/file or subfolder. Good Luck
