Missing fonts in iWork documents

My iWork apps keep giving me missing font document warnings when I launch Pages, Keynote and Numbers documents. This is a problem already reported by many other iWork users but I haven't found a satisfactory solution and I'm hoping someone here can help.

When launching an existing Pages document, I get this document warning:

User uploaded file

Here's what I see in the Font Chooser. Helvetica has got some new variants like '.Light Oblique'. What the??

User uploaded file

But if I quit Pages and then create a new document, I don't get any warnings. The Font Chooser also behaves as usual:

User uploaded file

I've validated my fonts, deleted the font cache, repaired permissions in an attempt to fix the problem with no success. What should I do?

Hello

may you pack an "old" file and a "new" one (using the offending font) as zip archive and send both of them to :

koenig PERIOD yvan AT tele2 PERIOD fr

I will be able to offer a script allowing you to fix the "old" documents by a simple drag and drop action.

*I ask that because I never met the problem so, I don't know the exact names of the fonts used and would be unable to test my script.*

I have just done some more testing, and the problem now seems to be intermittent. Very strange.

If I open Pages by running the application, and then select Template chooser Tokyo Letter did not have the problem, but Business Resume did.

Double clicking "old" documents to open Pages sometimes results in the substitution error, but not always. Yvan, I may send you one of these "old" files but they are invoices so contain some personal details.

I will try to find a way to reproduce this consistently.

I know how to look at the XML that makes up the Pages document within the .pages package.

Hello

When the document is in good health, the Index.xml file contains references to "HelveticaNeue" and to "HelveticaNeue-Light".

Now, I wish to know which is exactly the name of the fonts used when the system claims that the font is missing.

The script is ready and was tested with other fontnames.

Now, I am really confused - everything seems fine.

I set aside one file to send to Yvan, but I have just loaded it up and there was no error. I have just been through my invoices, one by one, and there have been no errors. Very strange.

Also, where my font selection dialog listed "HelveticaNeue" (incorrect) along side "Helvetica Neue" (correct) it now only lists the correct name.

Yvan, in all my documents the XML references "HelveticaNeue" and "HelveticaNeue-Light". So, I think there was a problem elsewhere in OS X and perhaps even shortly after the fix my font cache still held some bad details.

Now I have rebooted a few times over the past few days, the font cache is now valid?

So, I'm happy! All seems well.
