Boot Camp Installation Error?

I seem to be having trouble in installing bootcamp on my iMac. I am trying to install windows xp pro SP2.

I manage to partition my drive, format the windows partition and copy the windows files. Then the computer restarts and I get the windows XP start up screen. I then get to the light blue installation screen where it shows all its features etc. and suddenly the computer powers off. When I restart it, it goes into Windows as the start up disk and takes me to the light blue installation screen again. Even though its not frozen and the green progress bar/boxes on the bottom right continue to move, the installing is stuck at "Installing Windows" - setup will complete in approximately:39 minutes.

The steps of "collectiong info.", "dynamic update" and "preparing installation" has also seemed to be skipped as I don't recall going through any of that.

Whats going on?

Using the same XP disc, I successfully managed to set up boot camp on my MacBook. Whats going on Everything works fine up to the light blue Windows XP installation screen, where my iMac just suddenly shuts down on me...

I then restart and it goes back to the blue installation screen. Although the background keeps changing and introducing the new features, its stuck at "setup will complete in approximately 39 minutes".

Anyone experiencing this problem?

I've left it for about an hour and it comes up with this message:

An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing.

Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.

Press OK to view the Setup log file.

I press OK and I get this...

Error:

THe signature for Windows XP Professional Setup is invalid. The error code is 80096001.

A system-level error occurred while verifying trust.

THE problem is, I've SUCCESSFULLY managed to install XP with this CD on my MacBook. So whats going on?
