Hebrew or Arabic Fonts in iTunes

I installed tiger and now my fonts are wacky. Most applications are fine, however, iTunes and Word appear in some weird font in a completely different language. All my music is unreadable to me in this font. I have 331 fonts for some strange reason and none of them look exactly like the one that appears and if I remove a font I don't need from my font book and restart my mac everything is back to normal. But if I restart the mac or just close and reopen the application without removing a font it's messed up again! I have even unchecked all the languages for iTunes except english and that does nothing. It is very frustrating. I feel like my iMac has a virus, but I keep hearing macs don't get viruses. So how can I fix it permanently?
