Just purchased a Logitech 205 USB headset to use with
my PowerBook. When I set my sound prefs in System
Prefs to Output>Logitech USB headset/Input>Logitech
USB headset and plug the headset into the USB port,
however, I can record with the mic, but the
headphones do not seem to be detected. With certain
progams I'm getting a message saying that "the output
device is not detected."
What coule be the problem?
I have the same problem with Logitech 350 USB Headset since I upgraded to Tiger last weekend.
I could hear sound on the headphones for a moment after I plugged in the USB headset. Then it would as if stifle itself and there would be no sound in the headset. The mic was working but I couldn't hear the people I called on Skype as plugging in the USB had cut off the speakers and the headphones were not working. They could hear me fine. The settings in System Preferences were correct.
Toggling mute on and off from the keyboard has worked several times in a row. Thanks for that suggestion.
I hope it lasts as I have to travel next week and call back with Skype.
Would be great to have someone guess at what might be the issue.
