Problems with Edge

The Edge icon appears on my phone but when I try to access the internet or mail, it tells me that it could not activate edge. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

I get the "cannot activate EDGE" message occasionally, but more often it's as if I can't resolve names. I'll have 3-4 bars and the E icon, but Safari tells me it can't access sites. When this happens, it happens for all sites, and I think an EDGE problem is more likely than google, my university, and apple.com all going down simultaneously. Toggling Airplane mode doesn't fix it. Short of rebooting the phone, is there a way to reset the IP stack?

I'm in Portland, Or and I'm having the same exact issue. I've had my phone for about a month now and last night at home, it wouldn't connect. I spent about an hour and a half on the phone with AT&T and an Apple Tech (conference call). They had me try everything under the sun...turn it off then on again. Reset it. Turn Airplane mode on then off. Everything they had me try didn't work.

So this morning, I get up and it's still not working. When I got to work, I decided to try a reset again. WOAH!!! It worked all day........untill I got home. BAM!!! "Could not connect to server". WiFi works just fine. But I just want to know why EDGE is suddenly not working. It worked fine before when I was at home!!!

The tech at AT&T wrote a case for me and said that someone should be getting back to me by the 17th with a resolution.

I also asked if there was an outage in my area and he said that there wasn't. Oh well. Guess I'll have to wait untill the 17th...

I faced the problem today again........safgari cant open page coz cant connect to server. My friends iphone worked just fine.
I was so livid...coz mine was a new one and his a refurbished one....****....but as i came out of the restaurant it picked it up again.
Now its working fine. I am gonna take a video next time and putit on youtube i guess.....this is the third iphone i am on since i bought it 2 mnths back.
I might try to restore to factory settings and then update it to 1.1.4 again i guess.

I'm having the same problem ... over the last 4-5 days I've had to constantly power on and off or switch the airplane mode on and off, otherwise I have no internet or email capability. This is a new problem - I've had the phone since they came out last year and I don't recall having to do this more than 2-3 times in total over the previous months. Now it's 2-3 times per day, at least. (FYI ... I'm in Michigan (if we assume it's a Edge issue))
