Problems with Baldur's Gate 2 saving. Help?!

Like the topic says I have Baldur's Gate 2 on my Mac Pro and it will not let me save progress. I can play the game but it will not let me save. And the weird part is that it only does this after I look in my inventory. If I just walk around I can save. Someone please help. I called Apple support and they won't help me. They say it is a software issue but the game was working fine before I had them replace my motherboard due to separate issues. I am about to give up on macs if I can't get this to work. This computer is 3 months old and was fine until they took it apart. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and it worked for a couple hours then the same problem. I am wondering if a configuration was screwed up when they took it apart? I'm out of answers I need help.
