Printing onto CD and DVDs with Epson R280 Printer

I bought an Epson R280 printer to print directly on CDs and DVDs. It replaced an older Epson R300 which worked great for years. When I go to print CDs or DVDs from any application, in the "Print" pop up menu I select the R280 printer, then under Print Settings and Media Type the pull down menu has both the "CD/DVD" and CD/DVD Premium Surface" Gray and non selectable.

Has anyone had and solved this problem? Epson what me to use their CD/DVD printing software that is included with the printer, but I have lots of templates in another application, Discus, that I want to use.

Thanks. I did not see it but Magic Mouse did respond to me on the issue. the wrote:

+There is no defect in Discus, but there is a well known defect in the Epson drivers which they stubbornly refuse to fix.+

+The Epson R series printers will work with Discus if you know a special trick. The Epson engineers made a big mistake, and they forgot that USA users default to letter size paper. In Japan they use a metric paper size called A4. If you start Discus fresh, do a PAGE SETUP and select for the Epson printer (not for "Any Printer" which really means no printer) the A4 paper size, then when you go to print a CD in the PRINT dialog under PRINT SETTINGS (under the Copies and Pages pulldown) the CD/DVD option will magically be available.+

+It wasn't easy to figure this trick out and although we notified Epson months ago about this problem they have done nothing to fix this defect, even going so far as to claim it is a feature.+

+If you try to print once and then attempt to switch to A4, somehow the driver remembers US letter size and the trick won't work; you have to quit Discus and start fresh in that case. You can save these settings as a preset so you don't have remember each time.+

I found this workaround also fixes all other applications as well in printing to a CD.
