160GB iPod classic video not showing videos on my TV

What is the "home dock" accessory you are using, and how does it connect to the TV?

Apple changed the video authentication chip in the iPod Classic and as such, many third party accessories that worked with older iPods no longer work with the Classic.

The error message you are seeing suggests this.

It would seem so (as per my previous post). It's all to do with the new video chip.

I am connecting my iPod classic 80GB (latest) to my TV using the Onkyo DS-A2X dock, I can play music and see the OSD for music but it won't show me the videos or photo, keeps giving the message "TV Out Enabled" please connect Video Accessory. Everything is connected but I still can't view video

Ipod is on firmware version 1.1.1
Can you please help me figure this out. Is there a way to resolve this or my investment is waste on the Onkyo.

You should amend the properties in your Ipod pointing out that the output is for TV.

You can find that on your Ipod under Video or films or wherever you movies is located.
Under that topic you will also find the properties. There choose for TV output and all relevant things.

Try it again and your video or film will be displayed on your TV.

As I said previously, it may well be that the video chip in the new iPods does not "match" with the Onkyo dock.

There are a lot of 3rd party video accessories that do not work with the Classic even though they may have worked with older iPods.

I just encountered the same problem. I bought a new Onkyo receiver / and new IPOD dock a month ago. I had a two year old 60G Video IPOD which worked with it, but since I was running out of space - I made the mistake of upgrading to a new 160G Classic. If I want to use it with my TV, I guess I'll need to buy even more cables or docks from Apple. I read that no dock (not even Apple's) lets you use all the remote control features so it will be a manually controlled wiring kludge.

I've contacted Onkyo, but I note in their manual that the Classic is not covered, so I'm sure they won't be of much help.

I bought an 80g classic and I have a Denon 1908 and I have been ripping my hair out trying to get the Denon ASD 1R dock to show me the cover art on my TV , the audio is fine but no matter what it won't show me the images . So it appears from reading this that Apple has thrown a wrench in the works. Can anyone tell me what Apple products I will need to run my Ipod through my home theater , dock cables etc. What a racket

Did you ever resolve this , my 80g classic refuses to out video to my tv, I've made all the settings apple says to . I'm going straight from universal dock w/ apple component cable into my monitor and still only get audio , this blows
