Downloading Torrent Files

I'm having an issue in that in Internet Explorer when downloading a .torrent file, the file would automatically open when I chose to download i.e. "Click on this link to download torrent" In Safari however all I can get it to do is save the file to my desired location after which I have to find the file, open it and then delete it after my download has begun. I believe there may be a way to change Safari or Windows to recognize this and automatically open the .torrent file instead of making me save it but I'm not sure how. I couldn't find any posts regarding torrent downloading in this forum so I apologize if this topic has already been covered. Thanks in advance!
