Shockwave Plug in problem

Hello,

I am trying to access a page that contains a game.

When trying to naviagate to this page it comes up saying this:

"The page “iSketch” has content of MIME type “application/x-director”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveDirector

Do you want to open the page?"

Now i believe i have downloaded shockwave ( if someone can help me check please) but still won't work...

Where do i find that plug in please?

ANY help is much appreciated 🙂

I have had the exact same problem. At a site I was requested to download Shockwave 11 as an update. After installation the message I get when I go to use shockwave is: Attempted to load an internet plug-in named "shockwave for Director", but the plug-in failed to load successfully. Worked with Apple and we reinstalled QT 7.5, which I had updated the evening before. I have also installed, uninstalled Shockwave 11 and still get same message. Any ideas as to where to go next. Apple couldn't find the plug-in for me. Thanks.

Well, this won't help Josh because he's on an Intel as Dick M pointed out.
I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 PPC and Shockwave 11 DOES NOT work on my machine.
I can run Shockwave 10.1.1r16 Slim PPC and these two games play just fine (and others).

Gorillaz - note: this is a college site and if it gets to many hits they will remove the game.

There is a d/l link on this page for Shockwave 10.1.1r16 Slim PPC if anyone wants to try it.

Good luck,

Problem solved. Managed to contact Adobe.com. They are having site problem - hence I just need to reinstall at a later time.

Millie B., Would you please explain what you mean by " They are having site problem" — what was the problem?
Also, I don't know why you said " hence I just need to reinstall at a later time." — why & how did that make a difference?
Would you please explain that as well.

Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.

You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.

Not entirely, I admit. I went to the Shockwave download site and noticed that they pointed to two versions.

Possibly (because this was in the usual indecipherable Adobe-speak) they meant that version 10 had two different versions, whereas version 11 was in universal binary.

Will the OP please disregard my previous post!

I seem to have version 10. Everything works well. Should I attempt to update to version 11?

I hold you responsible for the results! 😀
