networking a HP C6280

Hi there...

Just got a HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One. The instructions cover connecting to one computer via USB, and connecting to the network via ethernet.

My question is whether I can use it as a "USB Printer" on my gigabit Airport Extreme? Would I lose any features or capabilities (e.g., scanning, ink level detection)? What might be the relative dis/advantages of ethernet vs. USB?

TIA, Jeff

The USB connection was designed to connect to a single computer. Don't use the USB connection with your AirPort Base Station - you won't be able to scan, and you may have problems with printing. Instead, connect the printer to your base station via Ethernet so that any computer may print, scan or fax with your C6280. Alternately, you can use the 802.11g wireless connection.

I am so new at wireless printing! I just bought a C6280. I've hooked up my older Imac to it via usb, and connected the printer to my airport via ethernet. I downloaded the latest printer driver to both the imac and my laptop. I cannot print wirelessly, though. What are the many things I am doing wrong, or haven't done yet?
Thanks!
