I got my civilian lab sleeve today. It seems like a very nicely made product. The MBA fits in it very nicely, not too tight, not too loose. It would seem to provide a fair amount of padding, without adding too much bulk. It's not the thinnest sleeve I've seen, but I think my MBA will be safer inside it. It has two snaps to keep the flap down, in addition to the envelope string thing. The front has the civilian lab logo in the lower left, and in the upper right there are three rows of small holes. Nice design details without being cheesy. The leather is nice, but not super posh, reminding me of recent VW seat leather. The inside is lined with a soft padding, and there's maybe a quarter or half inch of padding. I'm very excited about it and I think it will do a great job protecting my MBA. I still may get some thing like the mac case flight jacket or vaja messenger slim, but this is great for now.

I have the Flight Jacket. It is very good quality and I like it very much. The Veja case would be quite slick and very well made, however it has no place for extras. The FJ has a nice sized removable pouch on the front that will house the super drive and even an external disk drive. In addition it has a large internal pocket for incidentals and a front flap pocket in addition to a backside pocket. I put my charger and my mouse in the flap pocket and my cables etc. in the inside pocket. I hope this helps.
